And we begin with a visit to Huntswood Golf Club near Burnham in Buckinghamshire which has attracted large numbers of golfers ever since its inception as a nine-hole course in 1996 and later development to 18 over 77 acres. Club membership or Pay-and-Play fees (as little as £10 on a Monday or Thursday) make it eminently Affordable and the well-managed course (lots of indigenous bent!) with holes of modest length makes it Enjoyable for golfers of every degree of competence – and certainly less Time-consuming. Perhaps the outstanding impression is of the kind of welcome youngsters can enjoy with weekly group tuition (helped by the 13 year-old juniot captain!) enjoyed by about 35 boys and girls. Not only that – there’s also a little four-hole area for their practice. The club has developed strong ties with local schools, too.
