Campaign launched

2014 sees the launch of a campaign to take golf back to its roots, with the object of restoring the game to its basic enjoyable elements despite the pressures of Tournament influences.

With golf clubs in many countries of the world facing an alarming decline in membership and young people in particular being attracted to other  more accessible leisure activities, the campaign  aims to revive a game that’s

  • Recreational
  • Enjoyable
  • Affordable
  • Less time-consuming.

The founders are five volunteers who have played an active part in the amateur game and its organisation for many years: Stig Backen;  Michael Barratt;  Michael Coffey;  Nick Park and Malcolm Peake.

The objects of the campaign are:

1.  To encourage the revival of golf as a sport that is Recreational, Enjoyable, Affordable and           Less time-consuming.

2.  To enable debate on the best interests of the game and to seek the support of golfers and the game's administrators worldwide.

3.  To promote the practical applicaton of REAL Golf's values and features.

It’s some time now since the legendary Jack Nicklaus in the United States commented that the game of golf is "too hard . . . too expensive . . . and it takes too long".

Golfers all over the world are invited to join the campaign.
